Two Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
